How To Install RefWorks in 9 Easy Steps

What is RefWorks and why do I need it? 

RefWorks is a citation management software designed to gather information, organize articles and journals, and cite research. It is also is compatible with library database journals, academic journals, and search engine websites. RefWorks allows teams to share research and information while making citation pages and annotations for research simple and easy.

How to find and install RefWorks in 9 Steps

1. Start by visiting the Montante Family Library website at http://library.dyc.edu

2.  Select the ‘Research Tools’ link in the bottom right, red box

3.  Select “Search Database” link

4.  Select the link for A-Z Databases under databases

5.  RefWorks is the second ‘R’ featured database

6.  Sign in using your D’Youville College email. RefWorks will only work with a D’Youville College email address.

7.  To install RefWorks to the bookmark bar, select the drop down menu with your name located in the upper right corner. Select ‘tools’

8.  Follow instruction by dragging ‘RefWorks’ link into the bookmark bar.

9.  Once installed, you’re ready to get citing!
